Jennifer Lopez’s Inauguration Hairstyle Is Peak Jennifer Lopez
Leave it to Jennifer Lopez to look so good that she can steal the whole show wherever she goes… even during one of the most historic moments some of us will witness in our lifetimes. At Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's presidential inauguration on January 20, the singer performed "America the Beautiful" in a stunning all-white outfit with all the jewels to match — and a sleek half updo with long waves billowing halfway down her back. Unsurprisingly, this hairstyle was achieved by none other than Lopez's ride-or-die stylist, Chris Appleton.
By the looks of Appleton's social media posts, he used Color Wow products to achieve the classic look (he is a partner of the brand). "Inauguration glam essentials," he captioned an Instagram story that morning showing three of the brand's staple products: Dreamcoat Supernatural Spray, a heat protectant and shine spray, Pop & Lock, a smoothing oil-serum hybrid, and Root Cover-Up, a powder used for filling in hairlines and covering grown-out roots. Allure has reached out to Appleton's representatives for more details on how the look was achieved, but in the meantime, feast your eyes on the glorious back view of Lopez's waves:
This hairstyle is one we've seen similar iterations of on Lopez before — not that that's a bad thing (don't fix what ain't broke and all). The same could be said for her makeup look, which can only be described as peak Jennifer Lopez: a gray smoky eye with sparkling white inner corners paired with long, fluttery lashes, a glossy nude lip, and cheeks contoured to perfection. After all, you don't welcome a new president in front of the entire world without a little (or a lot of) glamour.
