Blake Lively Jokes About the ‘Glamorous’ Life of Motherhood & Now We Know What She’ll Be Doing Instead of the Met Gala
Everyone else is gearing up for the Met Gala tonight, but not Blake Lively. To her, it’s just a regular Monday in the life of a mom of four. The Gossip Girl alum shared a new photo of life as a “glamorous” mom, and it gives us a hint as to what she’ll be doing tonight instead of attending the star-studded event.
“First Monday in May,” Lively captioned a post on her Instagram Stories today. In the photo, set to “Glamorous” by Fergie, Lively is in the bathroom, wearing lavender sweater and grey sweatpants. Her hair is in a ponytail and her breasts are hooked up to a breast pump under her sweater. She is pumping milk, and even added to spilling milk stickers by her breasts. It’s totally the glamorous life — and all too relatable for breastfeeding moms.
Can you imagine trying to pump at the Met Gala? High couture and leaky breasts do not mix, so we don’t blame her at all for wanting to sit this one out. She can spend the evening totally relaxing instead.
Blake Lively Will Not Be at the 2023 Met Gala
The A Simple Favor actress attended the Tiffany & Co Fifth Avenue grand-reopening in New York on April 27. She wore a low-cut brown leather dress, with her long blonde hair crimped. At the event, she confirmed to PEOPLE that she will not be attending this year’s Met Gala.
“You will not,” she told reporters about if she would be at the Met Gala. She added, “But I will be watching.”
PEOPLE also reported that after Lively was complimented on her 2022 Met Gala look, she responded, “Thank you, that’s very sweet. I’ll be wearing that on my couch on Monday.”
Blake Lively Wore a Dress Inspired by the Statue of Liberty to the 2022 Met Gala
Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds, with whom she shares kids James, 8, Inez, 6, Betty, 3, and a newborn baby born in Feb. 2023, were two of the co-chairs for the 2022 Met Gala. The theme was “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” and Livey looked like an actual Disney princess in a long pink-and-blue bedazzled gown with matching tiara, which was inspired by the Statue of Liberty.
Ryan Reynolds Said He’ll Be in the U.K. During The Met Gala
For his part, the Deadpool star told Access Hollywood on April 30 that he will be in the U.K. during the Met Gala tonight.
“I think we’re off to … we’ll be in the U.K.,” he told the outlet. “We have Wrexham business to deal with.”
The star is referring to his Wrexham Association Football Club, which he co-owns with Rob McElhenney. He often takes his family to games, including going on a rare daddy-daughter date with his eldest daughter James in January.
