Now summer is here, skin cancer is an increasing risk. Direct exposure to sun can cause skin cancer to develop. Melanoma skin cancer is the most serious because it can spread to other organs in the body. Speaking on This Morning, Dr Sarra revealed the telltale sign of skin cancer that can surface under your nails.

Speaking to Holly and Phill, Dr Sarra advised regularly checking under your nails for a sign of skin cancer.

“Marks under your nails could be a melanoma,” warned Dr Sarra.

As she explained, the mark usually looks like a pigmented lesion.

A pigmented lesion is a dark spot under the nail bed, said Dr Sarra.
