Cheyann, who was just 27 when she died, was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2016.
Cheyann underwent chemotherapy after she was diagnosed and had surgery to remove her spleen, appendix, and part of her colon. She also had a full hysterectomy, according to People.
Cheyann shared in 2017 that she had “no evidence of disease.” “NED= No Evidence of Disease!🙏🏻 A 3 letter word that I never knew I would love so much!” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “It’s crazy to look back on the 1 year and 3 month battle against cancer I faced and to sit here and say that I DID IT!💪🏻.”

Her last post was on Dec. 23, where she shared that she had been “in and out of the hospital with a liver issue” that had been resolved. “Now I’m on a feeding tube which is totally okay. Your girl needed some help with food lol,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself in a hospital bed. “I start chemo on Tuesday and should be going home today or tomorrow, just in time for Christmas. Keep the prayers coming and keeping sending all the light.”
