Novak Djokovic’s First Priority After U.S. Open Win Has Us All Teary & Fans Love This New Core Memory

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic made tennis history at the U.S. Open when he won his 24th Grand Slam. It tied him with Margatet Court for the most championship titles and puts him one win ahead of Serena Williams who impressively (and unsurprisingly) earned 23 wins.

Djokovic’s first stop after securing the major win was to head to the stands and wrap his 6-year-old daughter in a big hug. How sweet is that? Djokovic’s wife Jelena handed Tara to her father and he was visibly emotional, crying and embracing his little girl who gave him the biggest smile. Tara’s big brother Stefan, 8, was also at the finals cheering on his dad.

“Novak Djokovic was in tears celebrating Grand Slam 24 with his daughter, Tara 🥺❤️,” Eurosport captioned a post with two photos of the touching father-daughter moment that fans absolutely loved.

“She gave him an energy to win. Great scene!”

“She looks just like him! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 what a sweet moment!!!! Core memory ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”

“Her little hand on the back of his neck 😍😍😢”

The Djokovic family had a similar celebration back in June when Novak won his 23rd title at the French Open. “Family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 is the biggest 🏆 anyone could have 🙏🤗🙌❤️ #family #grateful #blessed,” he captioned a picture with his wife and kids at the stadium. It’s such a sweet thing to say, and based on the beautiful photos and hugs, we have to imagine it’s true.
