Soup Season Isn’t Over Yet — Martha Stewart’s One-pot Chicken & Dumpling Soup Is the Ultimate Wintertime Comfort Dish
Picture it: Aromatic, warm broth filled with savory veggies. Your spoon dips into a fluffy dumping. Yummm, right? We’re all for the idea of clean eating in the New Year, but if we’re being completely honest, cozy, comforting dinners are all we want to eat when the weather is cold. And Martha Stewart has us all covered with her Chicken and Dumping Soup for those chilly, bundle-up-by-the-fire nights — because, let’s face it, soup season is still going strong and will be for a while.
And what’s even more comforting about this dish besides the classic flavors and hardy ingredients is that it comes together quickly, so you can make it in a pinch. No need to toil over the stove when all you want to do is curl up under a blanket with a good book. This one-pot wonder takes less than an hour.
“Our quick take on this classic comfort food dish, which starts with cooked chicken and store-bought stock to streamline the prep, is packed with vegetables and crowned with fluffy drop dumplings,” the caption of Stewart’s recent Instagram post reads. “Best of all, it comes together in one pot, so break out that Dutch oven—and be prepared to field weekly requests for this hearty meal. Follow along as we make it and head to the link in our bio for the full recipe.”

This one-pot version is an easier take on Stewart’s Test Kitchen’s Favorite Chicken and Dumplings, which is much more intensive. Rather than fancy up a store-bought chicken broth, the Test Kitchen recipe has you make a stock from scratch.
The result is an incredibly flavorful soup packed with extra veggies like potatoes, peas, and carrots. So if you have a few extra minutes to spare, definitely try out this version of the dish, too.
