Retail has changed drastically in response to COVID-19, but one change we hope sticks around is curbside pickup. Instead of dealing with the hassle of finding parking or trying to steer a rickety cart while wearing a face mask, we can get makeup, hair tools, and even furniture delivered right to our cars — or if you don't drive, brought right outside to you.
At most stores, the process is relatively simple: Place an order online for curbside pickup, wait for a text or email notification saying that your order is ready, head over to the designated area, let the store know that you've arrived, and pop the trunk. It's really simple, but to keep both you and store employees safe, the rules may vary by retailer. We've put together a guide to navigating curbside at 12 retailers, along with a few recommendations on products you may want to add to your cart while you shop from the comfort of your couch.

Bed Bath & Beyond
In case you haven't already, take note of the "Beyond" part of this retailer's name. You'll find a pretty impressive selection of hair and skin-care products from brands like Burt's Bees, OGX, and John Frieda.
Within two hours of placing your order on the Bed Bath & Beyond site or mobile app, you'll receive an email or text instructing you to head over to the store area indicated with "Curbside Pickup" signage to pick up your items. So break out those Bed Bath & Beyond coupons that haven't expired and get to shopping with the added convenience and safety of just grabbing and going.
Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer and Hot Air Brush

If you're looking to add some cozy pieces to your loungewear collection, look no further than Old Navy. The retailer has cozy stylish items, and even if true, it won't look like you're wearing PJs to the grocery store.
Not all of Old Navy's stores offer curbside pickup, so type in your zip code on its website to see if your local store is on the list. Those that are will have your order ready within two hours. Call the store when you arrive and a salesperson will stick it in the trunk once you show your order number or receipt through your closed window.

Walmart launched its free grocery pickup service in 2019, but it accelerated its plans to integrate Walmart Grocery with the rest of the store's offerings when the pandemic hit. Now, you can add products from some of our favorite beauty brands such as EltaMD, E.L.F., and COSRX alongside your weekly food shop.
Unlike some of the other retailers on this list, Walmart gives customers a window of time to choose from so that you can plan your curbside pickup around your other errands. Once you arrive, follow the orange pickup signs and park in one of the numbered spots. You can enter the parking spot and the color of your car in the app to help the associate help find you. Oh, and FYI: Curbside pickup is free, but there is a minimum checkout of $35.
Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Potent Aloe + Hemp Shampoo

Just tell your pharmacist what you need, and they'll include it with your prescription. If you're not picking up a prescription, just click "I'm here" in the email or text that notified you that your order was ready, and an associate will bring your goodies out to your car.

Once you've received word that your order is ready, click "I'm on my way," then click "I'm at the store" when you arrive at the pickup spot. There is an option to choose the type of vehicle and the color to make it easier for them to find your car, but it's not required.
