My Chemical Romance Makeup Exists, and I'm Not OK (I Promise)

Here's a hot take for you: I don't think there was ever such thing as an "emo phase" for tweens and teens in the mid-2000s. You're either still emo to this day (at least in a low-key way) or you were never really emo to begin with. Those of you who are like me and fall into the former camp probably still listen to My Chemical Romance on a daily basis, in which case, I've got some news that will delight you… maybe a little bit too much. The band has collaborated with beauty brand HipDot on a makeup collection inspired by (arguably) the band's best album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. And it's available starting December 10.

I'm pretty sure is the best beauty collaboration I've ever seen — seriously, it's like HipDot peeked inside my brain and just pulled this right out. What you can expect from the line is a double-ended retractable eye shadow brush with one side for packing and one for blending, plus a double-ended liquid eyeliner pen with two differently shaped applicator tips. Both are labeled with the retro red logo you used to see on all of My Chemical Romance's merchandise back in the day.

Oh, and then there's the star of the show: a nine-shade eye shadow palette emblazoned with the prolific Three Cheers album artwork. The shades inside are a mix of neutrals, plus a navy and two reds. Not only does it nail the album's color scheme, but it also gives fans a chance to recreate the iconic wash of red eye shadow that singer Gerard Way always wore during the Three Cheers era.

No lie, My Chemical Romance fans who also love makeup (like me) have been waiting for this very moment for 16 years. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge hit shelves in 2004, and it's been forming the music and makeup tastes of emo kids ever since.

HipDot, hear me out: How about we throw the rest of the "Holy Emo Trinity" into this? If Fall Out Boy or Panic! At the Disco are ever interested in collaborating on a makeup line, you'll know exactly where to find me.

The HipDot x My Chemical Romance collection, $12 to $24, is available starting December 10 from hipdot.com.
