My first international trip was to Hamburg, Germany as a fashion model. I am showing my age here, but there were no google maps or smartphones at that time, and I had to rely on the British red telephone booths and the Falk Hamburg Street Guide! When I look back at that shy country girl, I realise that these travel experiences helped me develop resilience and independence.

The pandemic brought non-essential travel to a halt, but I believe travel IS essential. Not only do we learn about other countries, their people and culture, but often, a bit about ourselves. Missing this interaction is what inspired my new IGTV series “Sunday Travels with Sarah Todd”.

When looking for inspiration, buy now propecia I travel to remote regions of the country to observe life’s natural flow. The most unforgettable moments are not of monuments or tourist hotspots but of times spent with local families enjoying the routine task of sharing a meal together. I observe everything from how they greet each other, the time they eat, and the ingredients they choose. To fully appreciate a country and its cuisine, take every opportunity you get to eat with a local family. This is where I am most inspired. In homes where English is not the first language, we communicate through food. I have made lifelong friends and memories from these heart-warming experiences.

Nothing evokes nostalgia more than food because food memories involve all five senses. The first season of “Sunday Travels” took us around the world through our celebrity guests’ eyes and emotions. I am privileged to be the writer of this food journal by recreating the dishes that hold a special place in their hearts and memories. It highlights the importance of travel and how it impacts our daily lives long after returning home.

As luck would have it, I visited Carl Cox in his home in Frankston, Victoria, for the series. The pandemic, this time, worked in my favour. As an international DJ, Carl travels more than I do and is usually on a flight every other day! He is loved as much now as he was three decades ago when he first reached global fame. How does he do it? When you meet him, you understand why that is. He seems as passionate about food as he is about music. It was a lightbulb moment. I love it when I have those; a task fuelled by passion will bring the most significant rewards.

Australian interior designer and judge on The Block Shaynna Blaze, and I hit it off immediately. She has the sunniest personality that brightens the room. Her energy is infectious, and it is no surprise that she has forged such a successful career. She is not afraid to stand up for what is right and to voice her opinion. In a world full of keyboard warriors, this can be incredibly daunting. Leading me to my next guest, Miss Universe Australia, Maria Thattil is an advocate for inclusion and diversity. These inspirational women have developed humility and an understanding of different cultures through travel. People with high profiles need to use their voice to inspire all generations. As my profile here in Australia continues to grow, I feel an increasing responsibility towards my audience.

I am often the one interviewed, so I enjoyed focusing on my guests’ travel experiences. I think becoming a better listener takes practice, and this series has helped in that respect. We better understand different cultures through travel, which promotes inclusion and generally makes us better people. I believe these honest conversations give us a personal insight into these celebrities’ lives. I am so happy to announce, season two of “Sunday Travels with Sarah Todd” is already in the works. If there is anyone you would like to see on the program, please share in the comments below. I will do my best to work my magic!
