Britney Spears Is Considering A Tell-All Interview With Oprah Winfrey
We may have grown up singing “Hit me baby, one more time,” but in recent years the sound of Britney Spears has left us largely questioning just what has happened to the star? The pop star was at the height of fame, a face that sold publications and galvanised the paparazzi all in an effort to feed public appetite for anything Britney-related. We wanted to know who she was dating, where she was living, who she was working with, and how she was navigating parenting? The media attention was unrelenting, but only recently are we really waking up to just how challenging a time this would have been for a young star.
Recently, it seemed the world united in the viewing of Framing Britney Spears, a documentary from the New York Times. What was once dismissed as a conspiracy theory suddenly seemed a reality, as the documentary explored the deterioration of Britney’s mental health and the legal arrangement that has since spawned a movement among fans to “free Britney.”
Among many things the documentary explores is the conservatorship, which dates back to 2008 and was spearheaded by Britney’s father, Jamie Spears. While the arrangement was enacted for Spears’s safety and to protect her from financial exploitation, attorney Andrew Wallet describes it as a “hybrid business model.”

Countless people watched the documentary and while it went ahead without Britney’s voice, she posted to her Instagram page a cryptic message that said: “Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories!!!!!”
Now, it’s reported that Britney is considering sharing “her side of the story” in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. According to Entertainment Tonight, Spears has been grateful to see such a strong response from her fans since the documentary aired. Reports suggest she has been inspired to possibly open up about her life “sometime soon”, and is potentially considering turning to Oprah for the task.
A source told the publication, “Britney has considered speaking out about her past, mostly because she doesn’t feel others should tell her story. She’s always hated doing interviews but if she ever takes that step, Oprah would most likely be her first choice. At this point, there is no plan in the works for her to do an interview but when she does, there will be steps Britney would need to take before speaking out.”
The source added, “Britney has been much happier lately and those closest to her feel it’s because she’s received such tremendous support from her fans. The release of the documentary has inspired an outpouring of more love than ever. While she hasn’t been able to make changes to her conservatorship, she’s received millions of messages from fans on social media and she feels far more understood.”
